Nicholas Hurt is a writer, actor and Mariner

For over a decade Nicholas has been working at sea, living and studying with indigenous tribes and supporting small sustainable communities and artistic start-ups around the world.

This passion for culture, people, their similarities, and differences, was first ignited by getting involved in theatre and film.

Having been lucky enough to serve in performing, creative and technical roles in film and theatre. From an early age Nicholas found a sense of belonging amongst the inquisitive minds of the individuals who collaborated to create them.

Whilst travelling there was always a drawback to those creators of colourful worlds.

So as the Covid cage came down across the globe, Nicholas tried escaping the lock-downs between Vietnam and Mexico but instead of running from, he decided, assisted by a great deal of serendipity, to delve back to his first passion.

Nicholas moved to the Alpujarra mountains of Spain where he collaborated with director Matt Blackie in starting a small co-operative production company “Upload Audio” where he continues his work as resident writer, director and voice artist.

Now with a base back home in Ireland, Nicolas is keen to learn and to expand his career as a performer.
